Our Provider

Dr.  Megan Thomas is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in child and adolescent mental health. She provides individual and group therapy services, as well as psychological evaluations, to children, teens, young adults, and parents. Dr. Thomas has experience working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and presenting with a diverse range of concerns, including mood, behavior, and education difficulties. She has worked in both urban and rural settings in private practices, schools, pediatric hospitals, and outpatient clinics. 
 
Her clinical interests include psychological assessments, executive functioning and attention, autism spectrum disorders, parent training/support, and group therapies. Dr. Thomas has trained as a generalist practitioner and works to tailor treatment to meet the unique needs of each individual she sees.
 
Dr. Thomas graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology - Washington, D.C. campus.
 
She holds active licenses in Maryland and Virginia, and is a member of PSYPACT, an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries.
 
Being a Cumberland native, Dr. Thomas strives to give back to her community. She began Thomas Family Services to address the growing need for mental health services in rural areas. She aims to help local families flourish!
